Passed by after a long school day again. And since my school timetable always end late, it's always time to get dinner at holland v. It was kinda a rough day for me and i want to have something more subtle for today, and believe or not sushi tei was my choice, as it looks so calm from outside. Besides they provide free flow of green tea for each paying customer. Well, alot of people might say that i have no childhood, since this is the first time i'm eating sushi tei.
The first thing you'll notice when you enter the restaurant is the ambiance, and with wood furniture, you can't get any more calm. Hence the ambiance for this outlet ain't that bad.
Well i dine with my buddy, and oddly enough my buddy ordered something like a Korean bibibam, which does not interest me as much ever since i came back from korea ughhh. But that's a whole other story that i shall not talk about for now. The dish is fairy simple, cold noodles with some sliced up ham, cucumber, carrot and more of which i can't tell.
Well, for me i ordered my first love, Japanese curry. I have to say, despite it's price, it's not the best Japanese curry i had. The best japanese curry i had was 5 years ago at a small hawker located at Ubi, which i have forgotten how to go. The last i heard it was already closed down, sigh such a waste too.
Okay back to sushi tei's Curry Chicken Cutlet, the chicken cutlet itself is stiff and hard to bite (should be tender) and the curry itself feels shortchanged, i mean it taste like normal sweet curry but, not the taste i expected. Actually it taste like those instant Japanese curry that you can buy from your nearest super market.
Moving on for dessert, i simply tried the matcha waffle icecream over there, it was normal. There's really nothing unique about the dessert themselves, i thing sushi tei might have just bought them off the supermarket. Its just those type that you can find in supermarket, nothing to make a fuss out of.
Overall it's pleasing to dine here, but for the price.. i think there's much more interesting to look out for when you're in holland V.
