Holland Villiage

Well, if you didn't know, i'm still a student studying in ngee ann polytechnic. And my school ends about 4 or 5pm, thats about dinner time for me. So what do i want to achieve here? Hah! I want to try out every single restaurant in Holland villige of course!
This Page Compiles all the post i made about food@HollandV

EWF (Every Thing w Fries)
Well first stop is everything with fries, why everything with fries? Because i haven't dine there before, i know i know, i'm slow on trends. Hahaha, the first thing that shocked me when i was there is that they sell beer! There's even happy hour 2 bottle for $9.90 kinda worth it ya! The second thing that i didn't expect is, i always thought that EWF is a fast food restaurant! well maybe the other outlets place themselves to look more like fast food restaurant. However the one at Holland V actually sway more to the restaurant side.
The atmosphere was good (well it's holland V). When they handed me the menu and from what i heard from my friends, it used to be cheaper. For example their nutella tart use to cost $4.90 and now it's $6.90 owh shucks thats like 50% more! (well almost!).

Let's get to the food then, i ordered their Lamb Burger ($11.90) as i heard it was good.
When your order a main, you'll get to choose a variety of fries(Flavors) and if you want it to be straight cut or shoe string, i chose shoe string as you can see from the picture and for flavor i chose curry! When they serve burger, the smell of curry spices just found their way into my noise, yup it was aromatic. However the fries themself taste like.... McDonalds Shaker Fries. yeah that was disappointing. the burger itself wasn't that bad, the buns was soft, the onions was season with lamb sauce and the patty itself taste great. i know some people out there dislike the smell of lamb as they say theres an "odor" well for me, i like the odor, as it wasn't too strong and yet you still can taste the odor and the flavor of the patty.

Next up is the ham and cheese sandwich($9.90)!
Well, what could i say? The bread of the sandwich was crispy with melted cheese between the bread and the ham, the flavors just mix up well! and who doesn't love ham and cheese! If you're at holland V and you have craving for it, this is the place to get it! For only $9.90 every bite is worth it!

Nutella Tart! ($6.90)
The nutella tart looks the same as any tart except it's black. The Tart itself actually taste like oreo. the cake part have a chewy cakey texture and the surface of the tart is cover with nutella jeleton like substance. The reason why i ordered this, is just because who don't love nutella? but after eating this, i was very disappointed. As nutella is HAZELNUT Chocolate spread. this isn't made out of nutella! it's just chocolate, there's no hazelnut chocolate in there! trust me i've eaten nutella frequently on my bread! Overall i feel deceived, even thou it doesn't taste that bad.

EWF Happy Hour!! 2 bottles for $9.90!
Finally time to talk about beer, well how could you dine on the streets of holland V without any alcoholic beverages? And i didn't expect EWF a place where teenages hangout would sell beer!
For $9.90 your choices are, Hoegarden, Heniken, Corona & more
For $18.00 Your choices are, Edinger, Killkenny

Well overall this is an okay place to be after school, i mean i wouldn't purposely go down there just to have EWF, however i found out that somehow holland village is not classfied similarly as the other EWF you find in orchard central or bugis junction.
They didn't even list holland village as their location. And the pricing of other outlet @ bugis or Orchard central are standardize as shown below
Overall, i find the EWF @ Holland V a decent dining location.
Price Range, $22.59/person
Ambiance, 7/10 (just because it's located at hollandV)
Taste, 7/10 (better than expected, Maybe for this outlet only)
Crowd, Quite crowded.(Difficult to get a seat after 7pm)

SUSHI TEI

Passed by after a long school day again. And since my school timetable always end late, it's always time to get dinner at holland v. It was kinda a rough day for me and i want to have something more subtle for today, and believe or not sushi tei was my choice, as it looks so calm from outside. Besides they provide free flow of green tea for each paying customer. Well, alot of people might say that i have no childhood, since this is the first time i'm eating sushi tei.

The first thing you'll notice when you enter the restaurant is the ambiance, and with wood furniture, you can't get any more calm. Hence the ambiance for this outlet ain't that bad.

Well i dine with my buddy, and oddly enough my buddy ordered something like a Korean bibibam, which does not interest me as much ever since i came back from korea ughhh. But that's a whole other story that i shall not talk about for now. The dish is fairy simple, cold noodles with some sliced up ham, cucumber, carrot and more of which i can't tell.

Well, for me i ordered my first love, Japanese curry. I have to say, despite it's price, it's not the best Japanese curry i had. The best japanese curry i had was 5 years ago at a small hawker located at Ubi, which i have forgotten how to go. The last i heard it was already closed down, sigh such a waste too.
Okay back to sushi tei's Curry Chicken Cutlet, the chicken cutlet itself is stiff and hard to bite (should be tender) and the curry itself feels shortchanged, i mean it taste like normal sweet curry but, not the taste i expected. Actually it taste like those instant Japanese curry that you can buy from your nearest super market.

Moving on for dessert, i simply tried the matcha waffle icecream over there, it was normal. There's really nothing unique about the dessert themselves, i thing sushi tei might have just bought them off the supermarket. Its just those type that you can find in supermarket, nothing to make a fuss out of.

Overall it's pleasing to dine here, but for the price.. i think there's much more interesting to look out for when you're in holland V.

Price Range, $25/person
Ambiance, 7/10 (Thanks to it's woody interior)
Taste, 6/10 (Nothing Special)
Crowd, Need not book in advance.(Difficult to get a seat after 7.30pm)
